The new high-productivity printing line will be used in the production of flexible packaging for the dairy market. The line is equipped with seven printing blocs plus coating, and efficient monitoring and inspection systems. It will specialize in the production of wrap around labels by which adhesive printed-paper is coated onto yoghurt containers for decoration.

Storck, a fine confectionery producer is one example of a leading company trusting Alcan Packaging. To coincide with its 100th anniversary last year, Storck launched a special chocolate candy called Chocolat Pavot. This delicate creation, a lightly whipped marc-de-champagne creme enveloped in fine chocolate is finished with a trace of wild poppy. The sophistication of the candy is well complemented by its equally refined packaging. The candies, decorated like poppies, are packed in an octagonal collapsible box. Once opened, the packaging serves as a decorative tray so that the candies, 15 to a standard box, can easily be offered round. The candies are individually wrapped in a very thin aluminum foil and red tissue paper which, like the petals of a poppy, can be gently unfolded. This highly original packaging was conceived by Storck in collaboration with the chocolate foil experts at Alcan Packaging Singen. Its sister company, Alcan Packaging Teningen, supplies the aluminum foil that is applied to the inside of the collapsible box.

Products like Chocolat Pavot illustrate that classic aluminum foil offers not only excellent aroma preservation properties and ideal density, but also an abundance of visually appealing design options.
