POPULATION DIVERSITY PROMOTED IN FRANCE BY ALCAN PACKAGING

Young manager of Alcan Packaging, Huu-An Pham is an active member of the Club XXI^st century (Club XXIe Siècle). This club gathers people from different origins, who graduated from various universities and who are working today in the private or public sector (entrepreneurs, public officials, attorneys, managers, senior executives and CEOs of big companies). They are driven by the desire to show that "the diversity of its population is a big opportunity for France".

The Club XXI^st century, which counts 200 members, aims to promote the population's diversity through a variety of actions and events. One such event, which will take place on April 12, is called "Conversation about Excellence" ("les Entretiens de l'Excellence"). This event, sponsored by Rio Tinto Alcan and Alcan Packaging, is hosted in partnership with Sciences Po. The entrance is free, the aim is to allow college and university students, and particularly those that come from rather troubled regions, to gather information about the different types of educational institutions that exist as well as about how "study programs of excellence" function. Huu-An and the other members of Club XXI^st century, who themselves went through this education system, will be present at the event in order to answer to all the questions that the students might have. "It's not easy to get a clear view of the diversity and the multitude of study programs and institutions in France. During my time in university, I would have appreciated to be able to attend an event like this one" notes Huu-An.
