Alcan Packaging Food Americas launches several new packaging innovations at this year’s Worldwide Food Expo. Tying into its booth theme “Above and Beyond,” Alcan Packaging puts next-generation packaging solutions on display for meat and cheese processors in booth N449.
NEW SEAL TECHNOLOGY FOR MARINATED MEAT Difficult marinade applications are no match for Alcan’s newest portfolio of sealant films. The innovative film seals easily through marinade particulates, grease, salt and acidic environments, allowing processors to profit from consumer demands for convenient meal solutions in attractive, case-ready formats. The sealing system provides excellent film-to-film sealing at fast speeds and lower temperatures to prevent meat from cooking during the packaging process.
NEW TORPEDO® CHUB FILM Alcan’s advanced chub film structures hit their target for improved overall performance in pork and beef applications. NEW HALO® FILM FOR NATURAL CHEESE New Halo flexible film surrounds natural sliced or chunk cheese with unsurpassed performance. Patented encapsulation technology delivers industry-leading oxygen barrier properties for extended shelf life. Halo structures also provide excellent seal integrity for minimal leaker rates. Their low seal initiation and high flow sealant maximize line speeds. Outstanding abuse resistance and 10-color capabilities create packages with exceptional consumer appeal.
RETAIL CLEARSHIELD® BONE-IN VACUUM SHRINK BAGS Alcan Packaging extends the power of hard-working ClearShield bone-in shrink bags for retail applications. New Retail ClearShield creates case-ready impact with outstanding gloss and clarity and 10-color graphic capabilities. Alcan’s self-manufactured bags feature improved shrink and puncture resistance for outstanding performance and fewer leakers. Retail ClearShield also presents processors with down-gauge opportunities for enhanced sustainability.
NEW CMD LASERTEAR® SCORING TECHNOLOGY For easy-open convenience, superior appearance and tamper evidence, food processors can improve their score using LaserTear cross machine directional (CMD) scoring technology. CMD laser-scored film works with zipper applications and creates a unique, “hooded" package that allows for the removal of the entire package header to expose the resealable feature. By scoring below the zipper, this innovation delivers easier consumer access and eliminates the potential for contents to collect between the zipper and the package. What’s more, CMD scoring results in an attractive shelf appearance, while the package hood provides a third layer of protection.
