| Ilene S. Gordon, Senior Vice President, Alcan Inc., and President and Chief Executive Officer, Alcan Packaging, has been elected Chairman of the Flexible Packaging Association’s (FPA) Board of Directors. Ms. Gordon has been a member of the FPA’s Board since 2000, most recently serving as Executive Vice Chairman. Based in Linthicum, Maryland, the FPA represents the interests of the flexible packaging industry in the U.S.A.
“On behalf of Alcan, I am honored to accept this new assignment and pleased to work side-by-side with other packaging executives to promote the sustainability of flexible packaging and to ensure the FPA continues to deliver the value and services to our dynamic industry,” said Ms. Gordon. Ms. Gordon assumed her current position at Alcan on December 1, 2006, succeeding Christel Bories, now President of Alcan’s Engineered Product Group. Ms. Gordon was previously in charge of the Company’s food packaging business in the Americas. In her current role, Ms. Gordon oversees 130 facilities and 31,000 employees in 31 countries. Headquartered in Paris, France, the business recorded 2006 revenues of US$6 billion.
