| Alcan acquired the operating assets of Daifu Industries Co., Ltd, a leading supplier of foil and plastic lidding for food packaging in Thailand.
Daifu, which generated revenue of approximately US$15 million in 2005, has a production facility in the Phetchaburi province of Thailand, and employs 350 people in Phetchaburi and Bangkok.
The new company will be named Alcan Packaging Phetchaburi Co. Ltd. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
