Taking care of business
Building on its principle of doing the right thing, Alcan Packaging has issued a Directive for Social Responsibility that takes us to the next level of sustainable business practices. The three-prong policy focuses on (1) compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards, (2) human rights and the workplace, and (3) environment, health and safety. The fact-based directive is specific to help local management implement it.
We operate in more than 30 countries, and conduct business in even more cultures and social environments. Alcan packaging has essential values and principles that guide us as we adapt and grow in our markets. To continue to be a successful global company, we must stick to these fundamentals. Our commitment to using the highest standard of human rights in all of our facilities around the world is non-negotiable and we expect our suppliers and sub-contractors to do so as well.
This Social Responsibility Directive provides strict guidelines aimed at creating profitable businesses while improving society and respecting our natural world. We’ re excited to share this initiative with our major stakeholders, including our customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate.
